IrfanView can play GIFs, sort by the current folder, and fit to window in several different ways. ![]() Just drag and drop your GIF animation and it will start playing frame by frame automatically. It's not perfect, but better - it offers a bunch of preferences and can be set to replace Preview as the default image viewer. I also don't like the hiding toolbar - although it appears quickly, it still takes longer to press a button than if if were always there (should be a preference). It provides a feature called ES Image Viewer which can load any GIF image, including animated GIFs. There's no fast way to jump to a specific image in a full folder. I HATE not having a sidebar with thumbnails visible ALL THE TIME. Only 7 preferences that don't offer any real customization. ![]() The toolbar only has basic functions, you can't even rotate or trash a file unless you use a shortcut or do it from the menu. It supports all major graphic formats (BMP, JPEG, JPEG 2000, animated GIF, PNG, PCX, PSD, EPS, TIFF, WMF, ICO, CUR and TGA) and popular digital camera RAW formats (CR2, CR3, CRW, NEF, NRW, PEF, RAF, RWL, MRW, ORF, SRW, X3F, ARW, SR2, SRF, RW2 and DNG). ![]() You gotta love keyboard shortcuts to love this app, and I don't. It's definitely just a viewer - not good for anything else, not even renaming. ![]()
